PESHAWAR, May 13: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Museums, Archaeology, Sports, Culture and Tourism, Mahmood Khan has assured full support and cooperation for conducting researches and explorations to the scholars and academics in the field of archaeology.
Addressing the opening ceremony of 3-Day International Conference on “Recent Archaeological Discoveries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Their Impact on the History of the Region” in Islamabad Friday he said that though KP had suffered terrorism the most since 9/11 but still it is the safest place with plentiful opportunities of conducting research, academic activities and tourism.
The Islamabad based Korean Ambassador Jong Hwan Song, the Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and well known archaeologist Dr.Ihsan Ali Khan, Director British Council Mohammad Ali, Vice chancellor Hazara University Prof.Habibullah Khattak and Director Archaeology Dr.Abdu Samad also addressed the ceremony while a large number of archaeologists and researchers from all over the World particularly Korea, Japan, Germany, UK and China are participating. Academics from almost all universities particularly wherever there is a department of Archaeology are also participating. -PR
