SWAT, May 22: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday said nations cannot make progress without educating children. We have over 25 million children out of school in our country.
“Great people build universities and schools to educate nations. Nations are not built through motorways. Motorways are good for those nations who are educated,” he said while addressing a public rally in Swat.
He narrated the example of Holy Prophet (SAWW) and said: “the greatest leader of the world suggested war prisoners of that time to educate 10 kids and get freedom. He did not ask for ransom or any other thing.”
Imran Khan said since Panamagate issue had surfaced Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was visiting different places frequently and announcing construction of airports and motorways.
“You will be able to construct airports when you will remain in seat,” he taunted the prime minister.
Responding to Nawaz Sharif’s taunts on PTI during his recent visit to Swat, he said Mian Sahib could not see ‘new Pakistan’ because new Pakistan was building in schools. If the PM could not search new Pakistan on helicopter then I would like to tell him that institutes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were being toned up.
“We are improving hospital system. We will build hospitals of international standard like Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre. Where I myself have got treated twice, I did not have to go abroad for treatment,” he said in a sarcastic remark on PM’s visit to London for treatment.
He said PTI had brought change in school system. While, KP police had become the best in the country because of hiring on merit and 5000 policemen who were found involved in corruption had been sacked.
The chairman PTI said it was the first provincial government which had devolved powers up to common men through local government system. Though there remain some issue to be addressed but PTI has empowered people at grassroots level.
He said the most important thing PTI was going to do was accountability of powerful robbers leading the country.
“US$200 billion of Pakistanis are deposited in Swiss Bank. If the money is brought back into the country, all its debt would be cleared,” he said.
Imran Khan said fate of the country would be changed if Panama Papers investigation reached to its just conclusion.
In a veiled jibe at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said his party, if comes to power, will not hurl allegations against the corrupt people but will put them behind bars.
“The most important thing we have to do is hold the country’s powerful looters accountable. Even if we have to go alone against corruption, we will go ahead and ask Nawaz Sharif to answer the nation on Panama leaks,” Imran said while addressing a public gathering in Swat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).-Agencies
