Protection of life and property of the people top priority of the govt: Pervez Khattak

PESHAWAR, May 24: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that maintenance of law and order and protection of the life and property was the top priority of the provincial government and that is why all available resources were being utilized for this purpose. This he said while talking to a representative delegation of Majalis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen who called on him at CM Secretariat Peshawar on Tuesday.
The delegation was led by Nasir Abbass Sherazi. Provincial Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Special Assistant to CM form Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani,MNA Sheryar Afridi, Home Secretary Capt® Munir Azam, Inspector General Police Nasir Durrani and others were present on the occasion.
The delegates apprised the Chief Minister of the problems faced by Shite community. The delegates put forth a number of suggestion for maintenance of law & order and restoration of peace in the province. They also assured government of every sort of cooperation in this regard. A law & order situation in the province and steps being taken by the government to combat terrorism were discussed in detail on the occasion.
The Chief Minister assured steps for overcoming problems faced by the Shite community. He also directed the concerned authorities to fulfill demands presented by the delegates according prevailing laws. The Chief Minister ordered constitutions of a committee comprising public representatives for effective liaison among government, administration and local people. He informed that confidence of the people had been restored on institutions due to practical steps initiated by the government. He further said that police department was being transformed into a service oriented department while the process of prosecution was also being improved. The Chief Minister explained that political interference in police department was abolished while all recruitment in the department were done on pure merit.-PR
