Kaisar Khan Nizamani, posted a video of Chaudry Nisar which was dated 12-12-2012. The content of this video were something of the following effect.
“I have decided, IF in one year’s time, we cannot re-establish the nation’s self-respect and confidence, if we didn’t get rid of the issues like load-shedding and economy (mehengai), our freedom and sovereignty, which is closest to my heart, if I can’t solve all these issues in one year, then I will revoke my position in the government. If I am a part of the Muslim league -N, I will withdraw from it.”
It made me think. Are politicians not human beings? Being a human being, every single one of us, we have standards, integrity, and ethics. There is an innate moral compass that prevents us from committing social and moral crimes. I have seen people who are going through massive issues, but won’t bend on morality to find shortcuts. I belong to the school of thought, where we would inconvenience ourselves to follow through on our commitments; we will make personal sacrifices for the sake of honoring our word. We will do our best not to stoop down from the standard levels of morality. If we make mistakes, we repent, we apologize, and we make it up with a gesture that is equal or bigger than the mistake.
So how is it possible that these people, these politicians, they will not think even twice or even blink before they lie through their teeth? I sometime wonder, how much money is enough, how much wealth will do it for them. It’s not even their money;it’s not even their resources. I wonder how they sleep at night. How do these people justify themselves when they are telling their children the difference between good and evil?
Not only that these non-human beings loot and steal from the wealth of the nation, they don’t even provide justified relief to the common man. Oil prices went down to record low of 25$ a barrel..but Pakistan is still paying 90$ per barrel, meaning that the patrol prices in Pakistan should be 52 Rupees a liter. But is the common man paying that much? No, the government has benefited by 11 Billion dollars. Is Pakistan going to benefit from it? Is any common man going to benefit from this? My educated guess is that we will never see a coin spent in the welfare of Pakistan or Pakistanis.
The issue with our nation is that we are both complacent and too indifferent to the circumstances around us, or we are too helplessly engrossed in our own issues. The few who fall out of the proximity of these two classifications are the only people who will be responsible for the change in our country. These are the people who have the courage to look these nasty, perverse, inhumane politicians in their eyes and keep challenging them; these are the people who will be changing the fate of our country. Pakistan deserves to be rid of these power hungry, perverse politicians. Soon!
