MirwaizUmarFarooq3SRINAGAR, June 5: Chairman, Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned the re-arrest of JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, saying the government was frustrated over the “united pro-freedom leadership.”
“The re-arrest of Yasin sahib and the harassment of his family and other residents of Maisuma show how frustrated the government is over the united pro-freedom leadership,” he said.
“This is also proof of how the government is muzzling the voice of freedom loving people of Kashmir,” the Mirwaiz said, adding
that such tactics will not weaken the resolve of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Mirwaiz said the Government was now indulging in inhuman and undemocratic actions. The Mirwaiz termed the raids on Malik’s residence, ransacking of his belongings, harassment of his family members, “atrocities” on the residents of Maisuma, and imposition of curfew in the area as “inhuman” and “immoral.”
The Hurriyat (M) chairman said the state government was using excessive force and violence against the resistance leadership and freedom-loving people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, condemning the house arrest of conglomerate’s chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a spokesman termed the “aggressive polices of the state government toward the resistance leadership as undemocratic and immoral.”
The spokesman also condemned the raids by police on and ransacking at the residence of Engineer Hilal Ahmad War and injuries to his relatives by police.-SABAH
