Khwaja Asif represents the State of mind of the ruling party. And most accurately and honestly too. He is a disgrace to this nation. And the fact that Mian Nawaz Sharif has selected for him the portfolio of Defence speaks volumes about the importance and respect he gives to those who have been laying down their lives (and will always be doing it) in the cause of this Nation’s independence, sovereignty and honour.

When Khwaja Asif called Dr Shirin Mazari a “Truck and Trolly” he added to his unenviable reputation of being the most uncouth, abusive mentally depraved and disgraceful politician and parliamentarian of the country (and may be of the whole world).

One wonders how General Raheel Sharif is going along with this ‘disgrace’.

Any one can be angry. And annoyed. Can show his or her annoyance by words and gestures. But a national figure is suppose to choose least shameful methods of showing this anger and annoyance. The PML (N) leaders have crossed all limits after the Panama Leaks issue that had put the ruling Sharif family onto defensive.

Mian Nawaz Sharif may have decided to go all out in his decision to fight a war against those he considers his foes, but he should read history also. Whenever a leader loses his sense of balance, and also his instinct to use wisdom instead of raw rage, it means nothing except that his time is up.

The misfortune of Pakistan of today is that its Chief Executive regards even his country’s Military as his foe, and is reported to have been engaged in secret diplomatic activities to tarnish the image of the country’s defenders, and have been collaborating with the enemies of Pakistan’s solidarity and sovereignty in destabilising one institution that stands in the way of their designs.

Hence Khwaja Asif’s appointment as country’s Defense Minister…..
