The American drone attack killing the Taliban chief near Noshki recently was a downright violation of international law by the Yankees.Since it caused collateral damage,it also came within the mischief of violation of human rights. Moreover,it derailed the peace process aimed at bringing calm and tranquility in this region. The Americans are being rightly faulted for playing a double game.On the one hand they have been playing the farce of a dialogue with the Taliban while on the other they had planned to physically eliminate the chief of the Taliban .
The Britishers who have a big working experience of dealings with the Afghans after having fought a couple of Afghan wars in the not_too_distant past should have told the Americans that the Afghans never forget and forgive the bloodletting of their next of kin even if they have to wait for centuries for getting a proper opportunity to avenge it.
There is a groundswell of public anger in the country over Noshki’s drone attack and the people at large expect that the government would never hesitate shooting it down if next time the Americans took liberty with our air space and used any drone for hitting any target inside Pakistan. In this connection they cite the example of Iran which had shot down an American drone that had intruded into its airspace a couple of months ago. There are wheels within wheels in the American foreign policy which cannot be taken on its face value .The common perception about the Americans is that they are double dealers and there is no last word in their politics. They run with the hare and hunt with the hounds.
