PakAfghanFlagISLAMABAD, June 15: Afghanistan has assured Pakistan that it would not intervene in construction of gate at Torkhum Border, diplomatic sources said.
Sources said that Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed for taking steps to reduce tension between both countries.
Earlier Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry summoned Afghan Ambassador Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
Pakistan’s strong protest was lodged over martyrdom of Major Ali Jawad due to firing of the Afghan forces at Torkham border.
The Afghan Government was urged to take immediate steps to bring this unprovoked firing to an end. -Sabah
