atifkhan2PESHAWAR, June 23: Khyber Pakhtukhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan has said that the PTI led provincial government was giving due priority to female education side by side male education and in the new educational policy, ratio of girls schools has been increased to 70 per cent. He added that the provincial government was for the first time establishing first ever girls cadet college in the province which shows its interest towards female education.
This he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Government Girls Primary School Daag Behsud constructed under RAHA program at Nowshera on Thursday. The ceremony was also addressed by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Mr. Filippo Grandi.
The Minister said, due to recent terrorism, extremism and militancy, education sector particularly female education was badly affected and ratio of school going girl students was reduced to great extant. However, due to the efforts of present government this ratio has been increased, he added. He said that of focus on female education was must for bright future of the nation. Atif maintained, indeed, no one can deny the importance of huge buildings and roads in progress of the nation but it all could not be possible without quality education that is why education was the mega project of the present government. He added that a big chunk of the budget has been allocated for this important sector.-RR
