The meteorological department had forewarned the Sind government well in time that this year there is going to be a heavy downpour of the Monsoon rains which would be 40 percent more than last year’s. Nobody, therefore , can say that the Sind government was caught with its pant down. Why did it fail to get the drainage system of Karachi cleaned before hand which is badly choked with all types of filth one can think of?It was sheer bad governance of Sind government as a result of which the roads of Karachi turned into veritable ponds and canals when the heavy pre-monsoon rains lashed Sind capital the other day causing untold loss to public and private property. The chief minister of Sind released Rs 14 crore for cleaning the drainage system of the city rather belatedly. Had this amount been released in time the damage caused to public and private property could have been avoided.
The tone and tenor of Bilawal’s recent public speeches and his body language reveal that he is not satisfied with the performance of the Sind government. It has been observed , lately, that whenever any awkward question about bad governance or grown and growing lawlessness in Karachi is posed to him by newsmen in any press conference or function , he instead of defending his party ‘s government, passes on the microphone to the Sind ministers present with him on the occasion asking them to explain it to the media. The question is this:Is he not in a position to defend his government and that is why he is avoiding answering difficult questions to which he probably has no convincing answers to make?If the answer to this question is in the negative in that case it can be assumed that by this attitude he is trying to give a message to the Sind government to deliver as the man in the street is not satisfied with its performance. Whether his father approves this behaviour of his ?This is the question which needs an answer. He is still sorrounded by the same people who were responsible for the poor showing of the PPP in 2013 general elections which means his father wants to enter the election arena in 2018 with the same people who were his cronies between 2008 and 2013. This raises another question. Are the father and son on the same page?
