LAHORE, July 12: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has denied rumours about his third marriage in a private ceremony.
In a message on social media website, Khan stated that the news is entirely baseless and has no truth to it. He went on to say that he would announce and celebrate it publicly as soon as that happens however, there is nothing of the sort for now.
PTI spokesperson, Naeemul Haq’s reaction came before the party chief in which he denied the news. Clarifying his whereabouts in London, Haq stated that Khan was spending time with his sons there and was scheduled to return on Sunday.
Despite party’s denial, it is worth mentioning here that Khan and his close aides have denied news in the past and reduced them to mere rumours only to confirm them after some time down the lane.
In early 2015, news about Khan’s marriage with Reham surfaced but the people concerned denied. However, PTI chief went on to confirm the news but sadly the couple divorced after ten months of togetherness at the end of the same year.
This was Khan’s second marriage after his divorce with a long time partner Jemima Goldsmith, sister to the mayoral candidate of London who lost to Sadiq Khan.
Imran Khan has two sons with Jemima whom he is being said to be visiting at the time in London.
Renowned journalist Arif Nizami broke the news regarding Khan s marriage with Reham but PTI Chairman denied the news; however, a few days later, Imran and Reham entered wedlock after a simple marriage ceremony was arranged for the two at Bani Gala.
It was Nizami again who spread the news regarding the possibility of separation between the two 10 months later but the news was again denied by Khan but the PTI chief made the announcement of divorce from Reham on Twitter a few days later.
For a third time, it was Arif Nizami who broke the news that Imran Khan was planning to enter wedlock for a third time in his life. PTI Chairman yet again claimed that the news was baseless. -NNI
