- Directs to identify areas of security for the Chinese and nationals of other countries under CPEC

PESHAWAR, July 14: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed to identify the areas of security for the Chinese/foreigners under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor in the northern part falling in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. For the CPEC, 9 infantry will be raised that will comprise 9000 personal – a special force for the security of China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
He was presiding over a meeting on TORs of special security division of CPEC at CM Secretariat here Thursday. The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to CM on Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Home, Secretary Law, Principal Secretary to CM, IGP, Advocate General Latif Yousafzai and other concerned authorities.
Pervez Khattak directed for a futuristic approach as the CPEC will redefine the importance and strategic location of the entire region and the entire belt will be the main beneficiary. We need to prepare a detailed sketch of the security and operational activities for the project areas, he stressed, the overall sketch, must identify, the role, the distribution of responsibilities and the level of constructions of different security agencies. There should be no overlapping of responsibility he added.
He said that the KP Government would take all possible steps to make the project a success story. Whatever role the province had, it would do it with national zeal and sprite as over future was linked to the project. The KP government has already planned to go an extra yard for its expected role in the security of road, industrial parks and other operational activities.
Meanwhile, addressing the participants to mark the inauguration of Captain Isfandyar Ahmad Bokhari Shaheed Vocational Training Center PAF base Badaber Thursday, the Chief Minister underlined the need for professional, technical and vocational educational plan for the overall development of the province. He said education is a sector providing a launching pad for the nation to take off. Adding that his government was going with a focus approach not only to the conventional education but to professional, technical and vocational education as well to make a base of trained manpower, which could stand on their own feet in the 21st century.
Provincial Ministers Muhammad Atif Khan, Shah Farman, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Core Commander Peshawar Lt. General Hidayat Ur Rehman and other high ups were also present.-PR
