ISLAMABAD, July 14: Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday said Pakistan and its citizens have sacrificed a lot in the war against terror but it is regrettable that US parliamentarians have no realization that how much it lost to curb the menace.
According to a statement, United States (US) Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale met with Chaudhry Nisar and discussed matters relating to bilateral ties and cooperation and overall regional security situation.
During the meeting Ch. Nisar expressed deep concerns overstatements of some US Congress members and other officials regarding the role of Pakistan in fight against terrorism. The minister said such statements cause a strong reaction in Pakistan against the US.
Ch. Nisar said unnecessary criticism and practice of leveling false allegations on Pakistan’s serious efforts for peace in the region creates hurdles in attaining mutual interests. He said the achievements in the war on terror reflect Pakistan’s sincere efforts it made for the security of the region.
Ch. Nisar said the US government acknowledges achievements made during ongoing war against terrorism especially Zarb-e-Azb for lasting peace in the region. The US Ambassador lauded the steps taken by the ministry of interior and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in security and immigration areas. -DNA
