qaimalishahKARACHI, July 22: Sources have stated on Friday that Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah is likely to replace Qaim Ali Shah soon as the Chief Minister of Sindh in what appears to be a counter move against too much flak for alleged bad governance.
Decision in the matter will be taken in a meeting today in Dubai which is scheduled to be attended by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari.
It is likely that Murad Ali Shah will take care of the Rangers issue with the federation and extension in the law enforcement agency’s time to operate in Sindh with special policing powers will be stressed to be conditional this time again.
Qaim Ali Shah-led government of the party in Sindh has seen a lot criticism during this term especially in the past year for bad governance and alleged apathetic attitude towards welfare of the people.
The incumbent Chief Minister has been trolled on the social media many times in the recent past for his tongue-slips in public addresses besides alleged irresponsible behavior towards development projects in the economic hub of the country, Karachi.
A local belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Jahangir launched a fix-it campaign in Karachi and attempted to dump garbage, collected from the city in front of the Chief Minister House for which a case was lodged against him and his driver.
One can imagine how city affairs have been going in Sindh from the fact that a three-day ultimatum was given to Waste Management Company to remove dumps and garbage in streets and localities and nothing has been done so far on the third day (Friday). Murad Ali Shah was earlier elected in the Sindh Assembly in 2002 and completed his tenure until 2007.
He served as the project director of Karachi Fish Harbour Authority before getting elected as the member of assembly for the first time. His father, late Syed Abdullah Shah had served the province in capacity of Chief Minister, Speaker Sindh Assembly and Deputy Speaker. He was also elected a senator in 1991 and remained a member of the House until 1993.-DNA
