ISLAMABAD, July 31: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday decided to stage huge processions to press their demands over Panama Leaks issue. This was decided by a high-level meeting of the party convened at the residence of Imran Khan in Bani Gala.
Imran Khan said that they will have to make a choice between a ‘corrupt government’ and ‘strong democracy’. He said that the country was at a critical juncture and the people expressed their hopes with the PTI.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan announced to hold a rally from Peshawar to Faisalabad on August 7.
PTI Spokesman, Naeem-ul-Haq said that Imran Khan would lead the rally.
“All set for PTI rally on 7th August from Peshawar to Rawalpindi to be led by Imran Khan. Hundreds of thousands to join the rally from all over KPK,” Haq wrote on his Twitter account.
The rally is a part of the opposition’s efforts to press the government to launch probe into Panama Leaks, which involved offshore holdings of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family.
Imran Khan’s spokesperson rejected all ‘rumors’ regarding formation
of any forward block created by unconvinced members of the party. He also said that Imran Khan will lead the rally.
Naeemul Haque also declared that the final action plan to hit the streets against Panama Leaks will be announced on August 6 after government session. PTI will also hold processions on August 13 and 14, he added.
He said that they have also discussed a petition to be filed by Naeem Bukhari against the Prime Minister.-NNI
