Chief Minister KPK Pervez Khattak presiding over a meeting regarding developmental strategy for all the districts and restoration of lapased fund at CM House in Peshawar.

PESHAWAR, August 18: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed to move a summary to the Council of Common Interest (CCI) containing recommendations of the provincial government to safeguard its interests in gas sector.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding unbundling of gas sector by the federal government at Chief Minister’s Secretariat Peshawar here Thursday. Chief Secretary, Amjad Ali Khan, administrative secretaries of concerned departments, Chief Executive Officer KP Oil & Gas Company and other concerned officials attended.
The meeting was told that federal government had decided unilaterally the unbundling of SNGPL / SSGC ignoring the consent of provinces through Economic Coordination Committee. The process was meant to finance RLNG transmission and LNG imports to Punjab at the expense of other three provinces.
The Chief Minister said we will have to act quickly to safeguard the interests of the province at CCI the constitutional forum for protecting our rights and interest. The Chief Minister made it clear unambiguously that his government would never compromise on the rights and interest of the province. He authorized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Energy and Power Department to negotiate with federal government and ordered to move a summary in this regard.
Meanwhile, presiding over a high level meeting the Chief Minister directed to identify different stations and sites for the proposed Peshawar bus rapid transit project to be initiated towards the end of this year.
The Chief Minister asked the quarter concerned to widen and clear the alternative routes for diversion of traffic once the project is put on ground. The traffic flow should not be abstracted, he added. He also directed for the expansion of overhead bridges, roads and underpasses and plan commercial activities there.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister approved in principle, the restoration of the lapsed fund under the developmental strategy for all districts of the province. He advised to complete the ongoing schemes in social sectors on priority basis as the government would provide resources for the ongoing projects in all the districts.
He was presiding over a meeting on developmental strategy in all districts of the province. Administrative secretaries of local government, finance, P&D and other attended. The participants of the meeting gave a presentation about the status of different schemes in all the districts of the province.-PR
