LAHORE, August 21: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif stated on Sunday that the provincial government has decided to head to the Supreme Court (SC) against the verdict of the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the Orange Line Train project.
While addressing the media in Lahore, Shahbaz said that the court’s decision was respected by the government but it had the constitutional right to challenge the verdict. He added that those opposing the project do not intend that facilities be provided to a common man.
Shahbaz stated that the lawyers of those who opposed the project leveled baseless allegations of corruption against the government. Punjab CM stated that the initiative was directed towards the benefit of a common man, adding that the project shall benefit three hundred thousand people on daily basis.
Shahbaz Sharif said that progress was being made on various energy projects under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif. He further said that the completion of the energy projects was the government’s top priority, adding that PM Nawaz himself was overlooking the completion of the energy projects.”Will overcome darkness caused by load shedding a great deal till next year,” Shahbaz said.-Agencies
