LAHORE, August 21: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has said that non-provision of justice is forcing people to stage sit-ins and protests.
The JI chief made the statement while talking to media after the funeral prayers of JI worker Mirza Tanveer Ahmed.
Ahmed was shot dead in Lahore’s Shah Alam Market on Saturday. He was the candidate for chairman from UC-33 Lahore.
While talking to media prior to funeral prayer Sirajul Haq said, “People resort to stage sit-ins and protests in order to get their First Information Report (FIR) registered.” He went on to say Punjab Government should clarify who has Continued on page 7

“The government will be at fault if any delay takes place in the investigation,” he said.
JI chief demanded to ensure justice to the bereaved family by sentencing the culprits. He also said that government would be responsible if the murderers would not get punished.
Various political leaders including former Punjab governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed also participated in the last rituals of the slain.-Sabah
