KARACHI, September 8: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that special economic zones will be established in the country under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project that will provide a better platform to our exporters and will benefit them.
This he said during a meeting with renowned exporters of the country in Karachi on Thursday.
The Prime Minister said that economic development of the country
is directly related to exports and special priority is being given to increase exports of the country. He said economic stability will also decrease unemployment and poverty.
Mohammad Nawaz Sharif said the Government is working with a vision so that benefit of economic stability could reach to all stakeholders while focus is also being given on providing short term, mid-term and long term relief to the exporters.
The Prime Minister said that Government also taken steps to improve railway infrastructure of the country that will not only provide relief to the exporters in terms of fares but will also benefit the economic corridor project.
Mohammad Nawaz Sharif asked the trade ministry to take steps for the import of duty-free five hundred thousand cotton bales. He said that formalities in this regard will be discussed in the cabinet meeting.
During the meeting, the top exporters of the country lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his government’s investment friendly policies that have brought economic stability in the country.
The exporters also lauded the Government’s commitment and effective steps to end load-shedding and said that end of load-shedding has immensely benefited the industrial sector.
The exporters informed the Prime Minister that improvement in law and order situation and increasing foreign exchange has played a great role in increasing the confidence of businessmen, investors and traders.
They also lauded the Government’s decision to import LNG that would further help overcome the energy crisis.-Sabah
