Even the detractors of Imran Khan agree that as far as his financial integrity is concerned it is impeccable. There are many who don’t see eye to eye with his brand of politics but even they, in their heart of hearts, like him to continue shouting at the top of his voice against all those who have been indulging in financial shenanigans as they fear that there would be no body to speak against them if Imran Khan stopped raising his voice as the rulers have bought all major political personalities of the country.
The rulers should not rejoice over the victory of their candidates in the recent bye-elections in the country mostly by narrow margins. They must accept the fact that the PTI had given their candidates a close fight and it has emerged a strong political force to be reckoned with. In the forthcoming general elections, the rulers might be in for a surprise at the hands of PTI.
Granted that if the rulers succeed in putting an end to loadshedding before 2018 and the benefits of massive Chinese investment in Pakistan also start paying dividends to the common man the rulers might cash in on these achievements in the polls by garnering votes to some extent but the allegations of their involvement in corruption are so massive that their achievement on development side pales in comparison with their corrupt practices.
The chances of the PPP to set the Thames on fire in the forthcoming general elections are also bleak despite the introduction of charismatic Bilawal in politics . The reputation of its leaders is also soiled with stories of corruption. Unless Bilawal enters the political arena with a brand new team, which is a remote possibility, the PPP would not be able to find its feet. Make no mistake about it.
