ISLAMABAD, September 27: Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Chaudhry Aitezaz Ahsan on Tuesday said any unilateral revocation of the Indus Water Treaty by India would be considered an act of war.
Speaking in the Senate, Chaudhry Aitezaz said the Modi-led Indian government was poised to threaten Pakistan on one pretext or the other for supporting the inalienable struggle of Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.
“By revoking IWT India will be violating international laws and every Pakistani will consider it as an act of war,” he said commenting on Indian threats to revoke the Indus Water Treaty (IWT).
He said the whole nation should stand united to thwart Indian threats and send a clear and strong message across the border that Pakistan would give a matching response.-Agencies
