All roads lead to Raiwind. If all goes well a substantial number of people should join the Raiwind March of the PTI tomorrow .The government should not commit the folly of obstructing any person or group of persons wanting to join Raiwind march as emotions are running high among the PTI’s workers. The sensible course of action on the part of Nawaz League would be to shut down all its party offices that might be located on the route of the Raiwind march on 30 September 2016 and ensure that no Nawaz League worker obstruct the PTI’s protesters.
Was it proper on the part of the electronic media to create hype about the proposed Raiwind march? Why on earth did it telecast footage showing workers of Nawaz League brandishing batons in an aggressive mood threatening PTI workers that they will beat the hell out of them should they decide to protest before Jati Umra? In the same manner the media should not have shown the workers of PTI clad in coffins. After all they are not going to the war front!
POSTSCRIPT: Every time the government fixes a date for the return of Afghan refugees to their home country some politicians try to stymie it by pressurising the government to extend their date of departure and not insist on their return .These days once again these politicians have become active after the announcement of the government that the Afghan refugees have to go by 31st December 2016.
The government should not change the date of their departure because a handful of politicians, who stand to gain politically in case these refugees stay back in Pakistan permanently. Let us be frank. Peace cannot return to this country if the government does not do two things simultaneously. First is the return of Afghan refugees and second is the establishment of army pickets all along the Durand Line.
