IndiaLOCRAWALPINDI, October 16: Indian security forces resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Khuiratta (Bhimber) Sector early Sunday morning, which was befittingly responded to by the Pakistan Army.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), exchange of fire started at 4:30 am today and lasted till 7:00 am.
There were no reports of casualties from either side.
India has violated the ceasefire agreement at the LoC several times since last month. On September 29, India claimed to have carried out ‘surgical strikes’ across the LoC in which two Pakistani soldiers were martyred. Pakistan dismissed the claims of the surgical strikes. India has so far failed to provide any proof of any such strikes. Tensions between the two nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours have escalated following the Uri attack in Indian occupied Kashmir. Without providing any proof India blamed Pakistan for the attack, in which 19 Indian soldiers were killed. India has used the attack to divert attention from the atrocities being committed in occupied Kashmir where since July over 115 Kashmiris have been martyred. Pakistan has raised the issue of Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir on the international forum, calling on the international community to play its role in putting an end to human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. Pakistan has also called for implementation of UN resolutions to resolve the Kashmir dispute.-Agencies
