ISLAMABAD, October 20: Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria has said that, “India is interfering in the Pakistan’s internal affairs.”
In a media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Zakria said that, “India is involved in anti-state activities in Pakistan.” He added that they have Indian Premier Narendra Modi’s statements regarding Balochistan and Bangladesh on record.
“It is highly condemnable that India is using international forums to attain its political objectives,” Zakaria said. Zakaria went on to say that India is using tactics to divert the attention of the world community from its atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
“Terrorism is increasing according to plan,” he said adding that, “At least 70,000 people have lost their lives in the war against terrorism.” Responding to a question, the Spokesman said appropriate action will be taken in line with the Treaty in case of any violation by India.
He said every since the Indian brutalities increased in the wake of extra-judicial killing of Burhan Wani, voice and pressure have been mounted on India from across the world. He said India is making desperate attempts to divert attention from the atrocities and human rights violations being committed in Occupied Kashmir. He said Pakistan is highlighting Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir at world fora and there has been very substantive outcome of these efforts.
The Spokesman said yesterday, the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC in Tashkent adopted a very strongly worded resolution condemning Indian atrocities on defenseless Kashmiris. He said Turkey has also reaffirmed its support to Pakistan principled stance for just solution of Kashmir dispute.
He said the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva demanded immediate release of Kashmiri human rights defender Khurram Parvez from India. He said international community remains concerned about the Indian crimes against humanity in Occupied Kashmir.
To a question, he said India violated ceasefire on LOC for more than ninety times this year. Answering a question, he said the notion of isolating to Pakistan is ridiculous.
He said India’s negative attitude has been exposed which is the biggest hurdle in the way of the development and prosperity of the region. He termed the Indian treatment to the Pakistani artists very disappointing and highly regrettable.
Nafees Zakaria deplored the Indian decision to use SAARC for its political ambition. He said it is contrary to SAARC charter. He pointed out that in the past SAARC Summit was postponed for eight times and for five times it was due to the negative attitude of India. He said Indian intelligence’s are involved in subversive activities in Pakistan.
Replying to a question, Foreign Office Spokesman said it has been the consistent policy of Pakistan that a political settlement of Afghan issue is vital for lasting peace in that country. He said Pakistan fully supports an Afghan led and Afghan owned peace initiative for peace in Afghanistan.
He said Quadrilateral Coordination Group is an appropriate forum for this purpose and Pakistan will continue to facilitate the Afghan peace process. -DNA
