FAISALABAD, October 20: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has said on Thursday that it was pertinent to get the premier to resign.
The chief of PTI addressed a convention of workers in Faisalabad on Thursday.
While addressing the participants, Khan asserted that it would not take long from now onwards to realize the dream of “naya Pakistan.” Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif should fear the passion people of Faisalabad have to stand against the alleged corrupt government, Khan said.
He said that a corrupt man destroyed the ideology of the nation and that he was not able to hold people accountable for their wrongdoings.
PTI chief said that Nawaz Sharif was destroying the country to cover his corruption and that institutions were bound to get destroyed if the leader was corrupt. However, he said that PTI would make Pakistan a country that was envisioned by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder. Khan warned the government of strong reaction if the government put workers behind bars over November 2 sit-in in Islamabad. Earlier, Khan talked to the media outside Supreme Court (SC) and said that it was a big day today in the history of Pakistan’s democracy as the court summoned PM Nawaz Sharif in disqualification case. He said that SC played its role by assuring to give justice and that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) were required to investigate the issue. Staging peaceful protest was party ‘s constitutional right if denied justice, he added. The statement had come in after Supreme Court issued notices to the premier, his two sons, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz in Panama leak case. PTI, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Awami Muslim League (AML) in their petitions had urged the apex court to set up a commission to investigate Panama leak against premier s family. Imran Khan said that he is satisfied with today’s hearing of the apex court.-Agencies
