- Says do not accept Nawaz as Prime Minister
- Says government’s media cell resorted to propaganda against the Army
- Asif Zardari himself is a dacoit, how he could hold accountability of Nawaz Sharif

DERA ISMAIL KHAN/ISLAMABAD, October 23: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that if a ‘third power’ came to control then the prime minister would be responsible. Imran said he did not accept Nawaz Sharif as prime minister, adding that on 2nd November Nawaz would resign or would present himself for search. Imran said he could not accept any criminal as prime minister. He said Pakistan army is being defamed under the garb of sit-in. Imran Khan pointed finger at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for leaking the details of the meeting on national security to English daily, saying that all fingers are pointing towards the Prime Minister. He said Nawaz Sharif is committing corruption from the last 30 years, adding that Asif Ali Zardari himself is a dacoit how he could hold accountability of Nawaz Sharif. He said the decision of Pakistan is going to be made on 2nd November, adding that the law permits protest but not allow prime minister to commit corruption.
Addressing workers convention in Dera Ismail Khan, Imran Khan alleged that the government’s media cell resorted to propaganda against the Army. He said that the security institutions were being humiliated and degraded intentionally. He deplored that just to save his government Nawaz was following Modi’s and Israel’s agenda.
He said that if the third force intervened then Nawaz Sharif would be responsible for that. He said that PTI was not struggling for the last 20 years for bringing the third force to the power.
He said that Nawaz Shairf was responsible for the Nov 2’s protest.
He warned the government of disastrous consequence if the PTI was stopped from peaceful protest on Nov 2.
Imran also targeted the opposition parties, saying that opposition was helping the government. He said that those opposing us to take to roads were themselves corrupt. He said that SC will held PM accountable. Imran said that Panama Leaks were not allegation rather evidences.
He said that PTI protest was also against the accountability institutions including NAB, FBR and Election Commission of Pakistan. “If these institutions can not take any action against the corrupts, then these should be closed down,” he urged.
He said that a notable politician from Dera Ismail Khan is taking sides with Nawaz Sharif and the cost of his conscience is diesel. Imran also alleged that Zardari is also on Nawaz Sharif’s side and he will not accept the current premier in any case. PTI Chairman also expressed that at last we don’t have to endure the speeches of MQM chief anymore.
Earlier speaking to journalists outside his Bani Gala residence Imran Khan said that only Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be responsible if a ‘third power’ steps in as a result of the PTI’s November 2 lockdown of Islamabad. The party has said the upcoming protest is for the premier’s ‘resignation or accountability’ following Panamagate.
The PTI chief said, in a reference to Nawaz Sharif, that only “one person will be responsible if democracy is derailed.”
He did not mention which force or institution would be derailing democracy following the protest but clarified that, “We [PTI] are not doing this to bring in a ‘third power’.”
“Why is a protest happening? Nawaz Sharif isn’t presenting himself for accountability,” he added.
“Protest is the PTI’s democratic right. The government will have to bear a severe loss if it tries to stop us.” Speaking further, Imran Khan accused the government of defaming the Army. Imran said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had bought a media house to mislead the public.
He was of the view that people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi stood by him. He warned that police would suffer strong response if they tried to stop PTI marchers. He urged masses to stand up for their rights and said ‘it is the right time to change their destiny’. Khan regretted that masses were suffering from poverty while the Sharif family was making the most of its authority.
The PTI chief alleged that the premier’s daughter Maryam Nawaz’s media cell was involved in a ‘leak’ of information from a recent high-level meeting on national security. ” “It is very easy to find out who was behind it. But if the person’s name hasn’t come out, then it is evident that Pakistan’s ‘royal family’ was behind it,” he claimed.
“Either Nawaz Sharif should present himself for accountability or resign, it’s very simple… If FBR and NAB don’t have the powers to hold the powerful accountable then what’s the point of having these institutions?” he said.
“Our protest is against these dysfunctional state institutions and the corrupt prime minister. Whichever opposition party is opposing the protest is effectively supporting Nawaz Sharif because they are themselves corrupt,” he said.
“To divert attention from Panama, Sharif will go to any extent,” he said. Imran Khan earlier declared the opposition leaders trying to prevent his party from taking to the streets in protest as “corrupt”.
He said that if he does not take to the streets everyone would soon forget about corruption. To a question from a reporter, Imran Khan said that his party would continue peaceful protests while the Supreme Court hears the case. He blamed the institutions for abetting in corruption, recalling that NAB, FBR and the Election Commission had said in the parliament that they could not do anything in relation to the Panama Papers issue.
Imran Khan said that the PTI’s protest is targeted at recovering corruption money from the “corrupt” politicians and transferring power to those sincere about serving the public.
“Nobody can stop us from exercising our constitutional and legal right to protest,” he added.-Sabah
