KHUI RATTA/BATAL, November 8: Two ladies (Kalsoom, mother and Amna, daughter) embraced shahadat due to Indian fire in Mandole village in Battal sector, while one civilian embraced Shahadat at Khoiratta sector on Tuesday.
Indian resorted to unprovoked firing across the LOC at Sabzkot, khuiratta, Nekrun and Sharda, Tander, Battal and Baroh Sectors and targeting civilian population living along LOC.
According to ISPR, Pakistani troops are responding befittingly to target Indian posts. Heavy exchange of fire continues at Battal sector.
Meanwhile Pakistan launched protest with UNMOGIP over killing of innocent civilians due to Indian unprovoked firing.
Shelling began in the Battal sector at about 1:35pm, with Indian troops using both small and big arms and targeting civilian populations of the area, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mir Abid in district Poonch.
“A mortar shell landed on the house of one Zakir Hussain Shah in Mandhol village, killing his 45-year-old wife Kulsoom Fatima and 6-year-old daughter Aamina, on the spot,” SSP Abid said, adding that Shah’s brother Nazakat, 30, was critically injured.
He said that another man, Ashfaq, was killed near a place known as Mehndri Bridge.
Elsewhere in the same sector, the SSP said, a 62-year old man, Rafique Awan, and a housewife Rabia were also injured. “The shelling is continuing,” he said.-Sabah
