secretary-general-jamaat-e-islami-liaqat-balochLAHORE, November 10: Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the US policies under Bush and Obama had created turmoil in the whole world and Donald Trump should bring a change by ushering in an era of peace and development.
In a statement issued on Thursday, he said that the Americans had voted for Donald Trump as against all popular surveys, analysis and expectations and now he should demonstrate that he was the President of all Americans and a man of peace.
Liaqat Baloch said that the people and the rulers of Pakistan should know that which every party was in power in the US, their leadership and masses had their own priorities and strategy. As such, the government and the people of Pakistan should try to earn respect and a high position as an independent and self respecting nation by establishing strong democratic traditions, he said.
He said that Kashmir and Palestine would continue to be flash points for the world at large and it was imperative that the world community abandoned its indifference to these issues and accepted the right of independence of these people.
He said that Pakistan and India were both nuclear powers and the responsibility for the present tension in the region lay with India. The permanent members of the UN Security Council should realize the growing threat to world peace on this score and play their role for the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir, he added.-Sabah
