GWADAR, November 13: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong has said that the departure of the first trade cargo from Gwadar Port to oversees destinations under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was initiation of a ‘win win’ cooperation between the two countries.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador said that the first trade convoy arrived at Gwadar Port passing through the northern and western part of the country, which was realization of one corridor project with multiple passages.
“This is first time that China and Pakistan co-organize trade convoy through Pakistan and Gwadar Port. This is a ‘win win’ cooperation between the two countries,” he added.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said that the day was very significant for CPEC and to China Pakistan relations. He said that it was for the first time that a convoy successfully passed through the western part of Pakistan from north to the South. He said it was also for the first time that the Gwadar Port was exporting containers to the overseas destinations.
“It proved that the Port has the resources, design and handling capacity. The trade convoy is an example of the spirit of mutual cooperation, joint construction and mutual benefit and win situation of both the countries,” he added. He said local people will get job opportunities with the completion of Gwadar port.
The Chinese Ambassador thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf for what he said his guidance, support and assistance for the vital project. “I would like to thank General Raheel Shairf and Pakistan Army for their support, initiative, and realization of the importance of the project,” he added. The Chinese Ambassador said that the trade convoy, which entered in the North in Pakistan and travelled down to Gwadar, become the pioneer to pass through the western route of the CPEC.-Sabah
