- Pledges support to PIA employees on every forum
ISLAMABAD, February 4: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has inaugurated PTI Azad Kashmir Secretariat in Islamabad. Imran Khan addressing the ceremony said PTI will participate in next legislative assembly elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and he will personally attend election rallies.
He said there should be credible election and it should not be like the one which was held in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said if credible elections would be held in Azad Kashmir then we will be able to criticize elections of Jammu Kashmir.
He said parliamentary board headed by Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry will be set up for awarding tickets to candidates in AJK election, adding that the tickets will only be awarded to those who are free from any corruption allegations. He said that the corruption is the biggest problem of Pakistan.
“We will run a massive election campaign in AJK and I will myself come to AJK for the campaign,” he said.
“We will give tickets only to those people whose past is free from any corruption allegations,” Imran added. The elections in Azad Kashmir are going to be held in June. The PTI supremo asked the government to ensure free and fair elections and his party will accept the results as he lamented the fact that the chief election commissioner for AJK has not been appointed so far.
“If you cannot ensure free elections in AJK how will you get free elections in the Indian occupied Kashmir,” Imran questioned.
“We are with Kashmiris and will provide them a complete political support,” the PTI chairman said, adding, “We will elect a parliamentary board under Barrister Sultan for ticket allocation.”
Imran Khan expressed solidarity with the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) protesters and said that he stand with them in this hour of need.
He urged the government to meet the demands of PIA employees as they are legitimate and valid. Khan tweeted that PTI forwarded a roadmap to the government to resolve the issue but the party got no response.
PTI chief rejected privatization as a solution and suggested to have a debate on the issue. He also assured the PIA employees of PTI support at every forum and announced that he will be in Karachi on Saturday. Imran Khan also criticized tax policy of the government and asked that why PM Nawaz do not pay the actual tax price. Sabah/DNA
