KOHAT, November 17: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has underlined the need of breaking the nexus of corruption, crime and terrorism to steer the country away from the quagmire of problems adding that eradication of corruption was must to make the outcomes of the successful operation of Zarb-e-Azb against terrorism long lasting. The Chief Minister wished had it been within his limit he would have spent all resources on education and health because he wanted to build an educated and healthy nation capable of planning for its future. This he said while addressing as Chief Guest at the parents day ceremony of Cadet College Kohat this morning. Members of National and Provincial Assembly, Major General Khalid Javed, Chairman Board of Governors Cadet College Kohat, Brig (Retd) Inamul Haq Sitara-e-Imtiaz Military, Principal Cadet College Kohat, Member Board of Governors, Teachers, Parents and Cadets participated in the ceremony. The Chief Minister on this occasion announced construction of hostel for the college, provision of ambulance and a grant of Rs. 20 million for the institution. The Chief Minister while addressing the ceremony said that we are a progressive nation and we want brought up of our young generation according to the needs of the current era. He stressed the need of equipping the new generation with the knowledge of science and contemporarily skills to enable them to meet modern challenges successfully. He lauded services of the college for provision of quality educational services to the cadets. Commenting on the national situation, the Chief Minister said that the country was ruthlessly plundered for the last few decades which made the country a din of social evils and terrorism. He said that the ruling forces had been ignoring national and common interests and had just struggling for their own vested interests. The Chief Minister said that people bravely supported Pak Army in the war on terror “people owned the war on terror and worked as harbinger of the army in the fight against terrorism” he maintained. The Chief Minister said that corruption was the basic reason of terrorism as it was producing criminals who become a part of terrorism. The Chief Minister underlined the need of unified struggle of social, political and military circles against corruption, crimes and terrorism. While emphasizing the importance of education the Chief Guest said that nations who, ignored their educational system always faced with disaster. He went on to say that corrupt people took advantage of the weak educational system and established institutions on the basis of their own like and dislike due to which social evils flourished in the society. He said that due to this mismanagement rich people became richer while poor people further deteriorated. The Chief Minister vowed that the present KP government was striving for provision of equal educational and development opportunities to rich and poor alike. “We want to abolish the difference between the rich and poor” he asserted. He further said that the provincial government was trying to make public sector educational institutional at par with the private institutions. The Chief Minister said that English was introduced at primary level to make children of the poor people to compete successfully with the children of rich people. He said that confidence of the people was restored on government owned educational institutions due to the steps taken by the government. He said that now people were preferring to admit their children in government run schools. He said that the provincial government was intended to produce educated youth, capable of working for the progress and prosperity of the nation and foiling internal and external conspiracies bravely. Appreciating the contribution of the Cadet College Kohat, the Chief Minister KP said that the institution was providing talented leadership to the arm forces. He said that the outgoing cadets of the college were providing outstanding services at national and international level. He said that outstanding results of the college in board examinations was testimony of the interest of the college administration, able and sincere guidance of the teachers and hard work of the cadets.
