KHYBER AGENCY, November 24: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited Bara Tehsil of the Khyber Agency on Thursday.
Addressing members of the tribal Jirga, the COAS said Pakistan Army and tribes eliminated the cancer of terrorism.
General Raheel Sharif further said soldiers of the Pakistan Army were capable of teaching a lesson to the Indian Army.
He added that India had staged a ‘drama’ of surgical strike. “If India conducts a surgical strike we will give such a response that lessons of the Pakistan Army will be taught in India courses,” the Army chief was quoted as saying.
General Raheel emphasised that the Pakistan Army had fought against terrorism and was the strongest in the world.
The Army chief also added that he would be handing over command of the Pakistan Army to the next Chief of Army Staff on November 29.
During the visit, General Raheel Sharif inaugurated the Shahid Afridi stadium.
Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi tweeted, “An honour & privilege to inaugurate stadium in Khyber Agency with COAS Raheel Sharif. You are Pakistan’s hero and my hero too”
Another tweet stated, “I am humbled & thank you from bottom of my heart for your kind support & backing for me & for your work for Pakistan.
You are a national hero and I wish you the very best in your days ahead. May Allah bless you more. Pakistan Zindabad.”-Agencies
