Insiders say Zardari intends to contest polls in 2018 as he considers Bilawal to be not sufficiently mature politically at this point in time.He seems to have taken a leaf out of the book of Sonia Gandhi who has exposed her son to the rough and tumble of politics by making him rub his shoulders with the common man in order to understand his problems and political ground realities. For the last ten years he has been working in the lower echelon of Congress party. He was not made president of the Congress immediately after completion of his studies.
Zardari knows that even the maternal grandfather of Bilawal too did not jump into the fray of politics after completing his college education. He had to work for almost a decade as a minister in Ayub Khan’s cabinet before he entered into active politics.
Zardari is in no mood to loosen his grip on the PPP.He still calls the shot even if he is sitting pretty in Dubai or London. The chief minister of Sindh is CM in name only.He is summoned to Dubai by him at a drop of a hat for getting instructions from him.
