The teeming millions of poor people around the world have been mourning the death of redoubtable Fidel Castro who breathed his last last week at the ripe age of 90. He was a strong voice against economic disparity between the rich and the poor.Throughout his life he struggled for the creation of a society in Cuba in which no body should economically exploit any body and to a great extent he did succeed in his mission. If one compares the balance sheet of his works one would notice that there are more entries in the credit column than on the debit side.
Throughout his life he remained a sore in the eyes of the US which tried its best to get rid of him. Many attempts on his life were made.Washington and Moscow once came on a collision course over Cuba in early 1960. In the end the Americans left is as a job undone.
Che Guevara and Castro did a commendable job in liberating Cuba in 1959 from Batista ‘s rule .Guevara left for Bolivia soon after on yet another mission—–liberation of Bolivia through a guerrilla warfare but was killed by the Americans.Castro reign lasted for almost half a century. He had voluntarily stepped down in 2008 because of his frail health .
The proletariat throughout the world love, rever and respect him from the core of heart because he always stood for the cause of have-nots and was a staunch believer in economic equality. They place him in the category of great leaders like Mao-ze-dong and Hon Chin Minh.Leaders like Castro are born once in a blue moon. They are a rare commodity
The poor people round the globe would certainly miss him as was a champion for their cause no matter which part of the globe they lived in.
