RAWALPINDI, December 2: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa spent his day visiting headquarters of 10 Corps Rawalpindi and troops on forward locations on the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
During his visit COAS General Qamar Bajwa was briefed on unprovoked Indian firing at LoC and repeated ceasefire violations by the Indian forces.
The Army Chief directed soldiers to be vigilant at all times and said that any Indian aggression should be met with a befitting response from Pakistan.
Each violation of any kind must be responded with full force in the most effective manner, he said.
General Qamar Bajwa said that the aim of unprovoked Indian firing was to distract the world’s attention from the atrocities being carried out by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
The Army Chief added that a solution to the Kashmir issue is crucial to regional peace and called for a resolution to the dispute in accordance with UN resolutions.
Commander 10 Corps Lieutenant General Malik Zafar Iqbal also visited with COAS General Qamar Bajwa.-Agencies
