ISLAMABAD, December 3: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to visit the US in January 2017 to attend the US President-Elect Donald Trump’s oath taking ceremony.
It has been learnt that Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has been trying to arrange a possible visit to Washington where Donald Trump will assume charge of the Office of the President of the United States on 20th January.
Sources say that PM Sharif has expressed his desire to attend Trump’s oath taking ceremony. The Pakistani Embassy in Washington D.C has also started making requisite efforts to make this happen. It was reported that the PM may leave for the US on the January 18th or 19th.

As per latest reports, it has been learnt that the Foreign Office is making preparations for probable meetings of the PM with other heads of states who he would likely meet in the possible visit.
Speculations of the visit come at the heels of a telephonic conversation between him and Donald Trump earlier in the week. The upcoming Republican president praised Pakistani people and the PM, expressed his willingness to help solve Pakistan’s issues and said that he would love to visit Pakistan in the conversation, according to a press release by the Pakistani government.-Agencies
