Pakistan is rapidly moving forwardagainst terrorismand a significant reduction is visible in frequency of attacks across the country .But it is not over yet! It was terrorist attack on Karachi airport which eventually forced the decision makers to launch a full scale operation against all breeds of terrorists . It was a tough decision with multiple challenges and obvious high cost risks. Terrorists were not expecting it at all ! In other words , their foreign handlers could not expect a major operation from a government which was meaningfully endeavouring to establish peace with militants / extremists through dialogue process .
Let us not waste energies on this point that how this tough decision was arrived atas it was owned by all tears of ruling regime . Unexpected pace and accuracy of operationwas a great shock for the handlers of terrorists . It is not a mystery to identify the handlers ! AjeetDoval ‘s famous speech available at social media is the biggest evidence in which he disclosed real Indian intents and shamelessly elaborated offensive defence strategy to disintegrate Pakistan through unending wave of terrorism . Afghanistan has served as an operational base from where countless terrorist attacks were launched in Pakistan . Operation ZARB-E-AZB , in initial months , appeared as a jaw breaking response to Indian coercive manoeuvres . Sinking of such a huge anti Pakistan investment was not acceptable to India . They came up with a horrifying design ! An extra ordinary act of terrorism with an unprecedented touch of inhuman cruelty ! It was APS Peshawar , where Khwarij of this era mercilessly killed innocent school students and staff members . Date selected for the attack was 16 December! A clear message from the other side of border that we are still capable to inflict another unforgettablewound like separation of East Pakistan! Though, APS massacre served us a deep feeler of grief and brought serious questions upon on going operations against terrorism ,but civil -military leadership rightly opted to move forward and chalked out a road map in the shape of NAP.
While remembering the victims of APS Peshawar , it is the duty of rulers to have a deep introspection of progress on NAP. No step can recoup the loss of bereaved families . However, effective implementation of NAP and sincere efforts of all institutions to make Pakistan safer might reduce the pain . Unfortunately, progress on NAP is not satisfactory . While Armed Forces persistently maintained the momentum against terrorism and shouldered extra weight of civil LEAs’ failure cum inefficiency , the state of affairs are not likely to improve in future too if political leadership continues with same attitude . A real threat to our existence can not be dealt with mere verbal statements . Price of this inefficiency is not affordable ! Our rulers have not yet conceived the idea that nation is at war. Pakistan is surrounded by hostile neighbours and paving the way for a prosperous future in the shape Of CPEC under highly complex regional dynamics .
There are serious reservations on the methods of federal government with regards to foreign policy . It is not even delivering the appropriate verbal response in which otherwise we are very good . We hear too much about regional realignment and wide range impact of CPEC as a game changer ! All sounds fake once we link these high sounding words with irreparable inefficiency and corruption dominated working ethics.Internal stability is the direct responsibility of federal and provincial governments . Can we take a sigh of relief on account of law and order? Obviously NO , as the police is not capable enough to control the street crimes . What else can be expected any better once pitched against well trained hard fire terrorists.There are more than a dozen civil agencies operating under various civil set ups and delivering much below the average output . Is it how a war is fought against the enemy hidden in the folds of society ? A serious failure in capacity building of LEAs is posing a bigger challenge to our future goals. No game changer project can be materialized with out fixing such serious errors.For the success of game changer , we first need a ‘Mind Changer’. Putting whole burden of war against terror on army is a serious blunder on part of government. It is actually equivalent of supporting enemy plan,unwittingly.Political leadership has undoubtedly failed in playing her due role in existing challenging environment .While creating symbolic optics on second anniversary of APS Peshawar shuhadas , our rulers should display some sincere seriousness by openly admitting all the lacking in implementation of NAP . Terrorist safe havens exist at Afghan soil right under the nose of USA and NATO troops . Afghan government is blaming Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism while having all breeds of terrorists operating with full liberty at her soil . On diplomatic front, our foreign office has never pleased our strong case in a desired manner .
Dealing complex diplomatic matters without a full time foreign minister is the real indicator of deep rooted non seriousness affecting the over all output of the state . Corruption and inefficiency is actually multiplying the sacrifices and gains of ZARB – e – AZB with zero . Unnecessary verbosity and lengthy stereo type political statements carry no meaning for the nation ! Masses feel irritated when a government official condemns a terrorist attack or appreciate the sacrifice of a martyr. People voted you to deliver by acts not by words! Nation demands a solid response on account of governance and security . Shamelessly, ruling regime mostly applied all available potentials in either self defence against political rivals or media campaigning against military leadership on the pretext of falsified themes.
On the other hand , despite all patience testing foolish acts of political leadership , it was the institution of Armed Forces which provided clutches to the rulers by establishing writ of the state in various trouble spots . It is to say no to verbosity and inefficiency .
Our case is the true example of flawed policies and wrong priorities. Let’s mend the ways this 16th December and reset the priorities with an honest heart . Souls of more than 60000 thousands Shuhadademand a change heart and mind. Prove it with actions that the nation is at war otherwise you will be charge sheeted as a criminal in the pages of history. This unending corruption and inefficiency might prove a game changer in political battle ground. So better try for a change of heart and mind before it becomes extremely late!
