ISLAMABAD, December 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday decided to give government a ‘tough time’ in the National Assembly and the Senate in the wake of revelations made in the Panama Papers regarding prime minister and his family’s offshore wealth.
The decision to this effect was taken during a meeting convened at the residence of PTI Chairman, Imran Khan in Bani Gala.
“The PTI will also consider how it could pursue its pending adjournment motion against the PM,” said spokesman Fawad Chaudhry.
He said, “The PTI will consider ways to force the prime minister to come and clarify his position over his contradictory statements made in parliament and before the Supreme Court over his family properties and money trail.”
The party has called off its two-month boycott of the proceedings of parliament as the case in the Supreme Court has been delayed over the retirement of Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, and has been deferred till January 2017.
The previous sessions of the National Assembly witnessed complete ruckus as the Speaker barred the party from submitting a privilege motion against the Prime Minister over the Panama Papers.-DNA
