ISLAMABAD, January 25: Foreign Office (FO) has asserted on Wednesday that probe for identification of two allegedly Pakistani youth incarcerated in India is underway.

claims of involvement of the two in Uri attack last September.

According to the FO, accusation leveled against the youths was aimed at diverting world’s attention away from Kashmir dispute.

Reportedly, Indian authorities first stated ages of the two to be 21 and 22 while later did an about-face and ‘confirmed’ they were 13 and 14. According to the information collected about the two, the youths had unintentionally crossed the border and steppe into Indian territory.

In September 2016, a terror attack on headquarters of Indian army in held-Kashmir claimed lives of over 10 soldiers in Baramulla District.

Pakistan has invariably been blamed by India in the past for sponsoring terror but no evidence of any attack has been handed over in series of accusations spanning over decades. -NNI
