ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday said sacrifices of our shaheeds (martyrs) would not go waste.
According to a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations, “Terrorists will be brought to their end and held accountable for their Fasaad,” he said.
A Pakistan Army officer and a soldier embraced martyrdom and five terrorists were killed Tuesday during an operation in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to ISPR, the security forces are carrying out an operation in Malikabad area of Swabi where the troops cordoned off a compound of militants.
During the exchange of fire, Captain Junaid and Sepoy Amjad were martyred. The shootout is still underway, ISPR said in a statement.
Officials said the martyred captain was leading the troops in the operation that was part of recently-launched Raddul Fasaad offensive.
Meanwhile, the army announced that five of the terrorists were killed.
Today’s incident came a day after five soldiers were martyred in a cross-border “terrorist attack” on three Pakistani border posts in Mohmand Agency.
