ISLAMABAD, March 12: Islamabad is in dire need of infrastructure expansion. Due to rising population, the capital city needs new solution.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sheikh Anser Aziz said this while chairing a meeting held at CDA Headquarters. The meeting was attended by the senior officers of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA. The meeting discussed the projects to be initiated in the future.
We are Public representatives and we are alive to public problems. We are finding solutions and we are executing on ground. We are trying to find remedies for mistakes of city mangers in the past. Foul proof long-term planning for city’s problems is in process. Execution on few projects is on the ground and rest will be in execution stage soon, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz said.
Planning for construction of 10th Avenue is in final stages. Starting from IJP Road, 10th Avenue will pass through sectors I-10, H-10, G-10, F-10 and will conclude at Khayaban-e-Iqbal. All these sectors in addition to sector E-11, D-12, E-12, F-11, G-11, H-11 and I-11 will directly benefit from this project.
Under passes to connect sector G-7 and G-8 is also in final planning phase. Similarly under pass to connect sector F-7 with sector F-8 is in final stages of planning. Immediately after planning, execution on these under passes will commence. The present CDA administration is undertaking these because past administration turned blind eyes to these pivotal projects. The negligence in the past has costed people of Islamabad suffer a lot.
Construction of 6th Avenue is also in the final planning and designing stage. Starting from Khayban-e-Sohrwardy, the 6th Avenue will initially conclude at Agha Khan Road. The projects include expansion of existing infrastructure and addition of new lanes for traffic ease. Similarly, planning is underway for extension of 7thAvenue till Garden Avenue. This project will include expansion of Garden Avenue, Mayor further said.
The Mayor on this occasion was briefed that environment protection and cost effectiveness are two fundamental principles guiding the planning of all new project. There will be no compromise on environmental protection and cost efficiency. Early completion of the projects is also base of planning process.-PR
