KARACHI: Before the second edition of Pakistan Super League, hardly anyone had heard of him, but after performing during the tournament, he became an overnight sensation and got everyone’s attention. 18-year old Shadab Khan has now set his eyes on doing more. The superb performance by the leg-break bowler in PSL has earned him a contract in CPL, his league salary raised from $10,000 to $30,000, and the young boy from Mianwali has credited Pakistan Super League and his team Islamabad United for this. “No one knew me before PSL, the league and the team Islamabad provided me an opportunity to showcase my abilities to the world. And, thanks to Almighty, have successfully managed to show what I am capable of, now everyone has got to know about me,” Shadab told geo.tv after the news of him being signed by Trinbago Knight Riders for CPL. Shadab said that he is happy to be signed by a CPL team and hoped that he would try to repeat his PSL performance in the Caribbean Islands. “There are big names in CPL, I will not only try to perform according to expectations, but will also try to learn as much as I can from the top players like Hashim Amla and Bravo,” he said. – MD
