ISLAMABAD, February 12: Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi said that Ministry of Industries and Production will help the Provincial Government of Gilgit Baltistan in installation of Fruit Processing Plants, for poverty alleviation in the area.
He added that the Ministry and its companies like Furniture Pakistan, Jems & Jewelry and SMEDA will also play their best efforts for Industrial development of Gilgit Baltistan.
Minister share these views with Governor Gilgit Baltistan Ghazanfar Ali Khan at his residence on Friday
The Governor said that in Gilgit Baltistan unemployment ratio is very high, Tourism is the only industry and as such there is vital need of industries in Gilgit Baltistan. The Minister said we will facilitate you in industry sector especially Jems & Jewelry, Furniture, installation of Fruit Pulps factories, opening of utility stores in northern areas of Pakistan.
Minister further said for the development of small and medium enterprises our sub department AHAN will expand its working to the northern areas of Pakistan Aik Hunar Aik Nagar focusing mainly on neglected sectors of hand-crafted products.
AHAN is promoting their products to make their competitive in local and international markets, Employment generation and increasing income in the informal rural markets, thus leading to rural poverty alleviation.-DNA
