KOTLI , February 14: The situation in Kotli has turned tense after clash between the workers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to sources, all the business sectors, shops and markets have been closed to avoid any further mishap in the metropolis.
The local administration has summoned heavy contingents of police and Rangers for continuous patrolling in Kotli.
Earlier, at least one person was killed while six others sustained severe injuries as scuffle broke out between the workers of PPP and PML-N in Kotli on Saturday.
The brawl took place when PPP activists organized a workers convention at degree college’s ground in Nakyal. PML-N workers hurled rocks over them, retaliating to which Munshi Khan was killed while six others also got severely wounded. Police officers resorted to aerial firing and tear gas to disperse the angry workers while security personnel also cordoned off the entire area. According to details, Prime Minister (PM) Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Afzal Majeed was on his way to address an election rally of PPP contestant Javed Ludhianvi, when PML-N supporters attacked.-Agencies
