ISLAMABAD, May 9: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe into the Panama Papers scandal has Panama has finalized procedures for the investigation.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Additional Director General Wajid Zia chaired second meeting of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT). Sources said that the JIT has finalized the framework for the investigations. In the first phase, the JIT will collect national and international asset and tax details. In the second phase, the JIT will record statements of both the parties.
In the final phase, the investigation team will prepare the report.
Earlier, the JIT head Wajid Zia wrote a letter to the FIA, asking the agency to form a panel of its officer to assist the investigations into the Panama case. The decision was made during a meeting of the JIT on Monday. The JIT chief will pick one officer from the panel. It was decided that help would be sought from foreign experts.-Agencies
