Most of our sports ‘ journalists lose sense of proportion while commenting on cricket matches. When Pakistsn won the first test match against the West Indies they heaped a lot of praise on the Pakistani players using all types of adjectives known to them but when our team lost the second test reverse was the case. They suddenly started seeing ills in the Pakistani batsmen.
Misbah ul Haque hit the right nail in the head by saying that victory and defeat are the part and parcel of the game and one should be moderate and realistic while commenting on cricket matches.
It has always been difficult to beat the Windies on their home grounds. Despite the fact that the present West Indies team playing against Pakistan does not include their top ranking players most of whom are busy playing in the IPL matches in India but still they had put up a spirited performance in the second test. The third test match is going to decide the fate of the three test matches series between Pakistan and the West Indies.
Let us admit that the Carrebian islands have a lot of cricket talent. Time was when the West Indies was unbeatable and it ruled the cricket world for more than a decade in every department of the game producing excellent batsmen and bowlers the like of whom were not seen by the cricketing world since long.
