Upcoming Pakistani romantic thriller, Bachaana, is all set to hit theatres across Pakistan and India on February 26. The film – starring actors Mohib Mirza and Sanam Saeed in lead roles – will be screened on the other side of the border owing to its similarities to superstar Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, reported Zee News.
The film is said to have captured cross-border relations both on and off screen. Through this, the team hopes to bridge the gap between the two countries. “The distributors in India have shown interest primarily because the film’s trailer evoked social media discussions comparing Bachaana with the Bollywood hit, Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” director Nasir Khan told Press Trust of India. “The Pakistan-India angle has intrigued people and created a lot of buzz for the film. I am positive that cinema goers will not be disappointed. Things have been finalised with distributors and I am excited to see Bachaana release in India,” he added.

Bachaana has been shot in Mauritius. It depicts the story of a Pakistani taxi driver — played by Mirza — who comes to the rescue of an Indian girl named Alia — essayed by Sanam Saeed. A typical damsel in distress, Alia is forced to place her faith in Vicky who takes it upon himself to help her return to Indian safely. The storyline follows the couple’s adventures and how they eventually end up falling head over heels in love with each other. Apart from being directed by Nasir Khan, Bachaana has been co-produced by him and Rizwan Saeed under the banner of Big Film Entertainment.
