ISLAMABAD, December 11: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz Friday informed the National Assembly that issue of bilateral cricket series between Pakistan and India came up to discussion between him and Indian Foreign Minister during an informal talk in Islamabad.
In his policy statement in the House, Sartaj Aziz said “Cricket was not official,” however I asked Indian Foreign Minster about the constraints in resuming the cricket between the two countries during an informal talk at dinner.
The Indian Foreign Minister responded that there were difficulties when relations were not good, since the relations between the two countries were getting better now, so it would positively impact the cricket, Aziz added
He also informed the National Assembly that the Indian parliament was also discussing the issue in its proceedings, adding “so let’s see what new come out”.
Parliamentarians on Thursday had asked for policy statement by Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs and sought clarification on why cricket was not discussed with the Indian Foreign Minister during the meetings held on the side lines of Heart of Asia Conference. – DNA
