PESHAWAR, February 16: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary Education and Power, Muhammad Atif Khan has said that Tameer-e-School Programme is a revolutionary one of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government under which Rs. 43 billion would be spent on provision of missing facilities in 30,000 schools of the province adding that Rs.10 billion had already been released in first phase for the purpose.
This, he stated, while holding a meeting with President of The Citizen Foundation (TCF) of Canada, Abdul Aziz, at Peshawar on Tuesday. The meeting beside others, was also attended by the Secretary Elementary Education Afzal Latif, Additional Secretary Qaiser Alam and Director Education, Rafiq Khattak.
The TCF President, while offering his services for promotion of quality education said that he was greatly impressed by the educational reforms initiatives and wanted to play his role in this sector. He added that his organization was running 58 educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and it was his utmost desire to start such institutions in the Govt: Schools infrastructure, if possible.
The Education Minister, while appreciating the spirit of patriotism of Abdul Aziz said that PTI led Govt: would give exemplary education system to the province in line with the vision and commitment of PTI Chief, Imran Khan. He vowed that standard of Govt: Schools would be brought at par with the best educational institutions of the country.
Atif maintained that the incumbent Govt: has increased the educational Budget of the province up to Rs.100 billion, which was 28 per cent of the total Budget.-PR
