ISLAMABAD, February 16: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has said that two issues are under investigation regarding Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for misuse of authority. According to a private television channel, NAB said that the inquires will be completed by March 31. The inquiries into Metro Bus project and construction of Raiwind road up to farm are in the final phase.
Following Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s statement criticizing NAB for harassing people, National Accountability Bureau said that the inquiries into these matters and against PML-N are in the final stage. Besides, investigation into illegal appointments in the Federal Investigation Agency is underway also. NAB has taken some important decisions in this regard. It may be recalled that the construction of the Raiwind Road in an illegal way caused loss of Rs 1.30 billion to the national exchequer. While the inquiry into the Metro Bus project is going on. NAB said that on completion of these inquiries the report will be presented to the Executive Board after which the decision will be taken whether to file a reference in this regard or otherwise. Meanwhile, PPP MNA, Faryal Talpur, sister of former President Asif Ali Zardari has met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed political situation obtaining in the country.- Monitoring Desk
